born august 14, 1960. sorted into slytherin house at hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. this is an improvised expansion of a canon harry potter character, set during the marauders era timeline.
appearance
dark brown and somewhat unruly hair that is often tamed into loose curls. unlike his parents, his eyes are a fierce shade of blue that darken in synchronisation with his mood. tall, standing just above six foot, with broad shoulders and a muscular frame carved from years of quidditch. on his right arm, he is working on a sleeve tattoo consisting primarily of a shaded serpent coiled down the length of his arm, it’s eye a vibrant crimson red. there’s a charm ⎯albeit weak at the moment, a work in progress⎯ that breathes life into the tattoo, giving it an illusion of movement and free-will.
personality
there is no doubting the sorting hat’s decision to brand him a snake⎯ ambition, resourcefulness, cunning and leadership captures the very essence of his being. evan was born ( or arguably raised⎯ ) with an unquestionable thirst for greatness, and he will stop at nothing to achieve it. power is of the utmost importance to him; a perfectionist, his temper will fall short if he cannot master a particular spell or potion, or complete a task that is beyond his realm of capabilities. upholding traditional pureblood values is, surprisingly, not at the top of his agenda. truthfully, blood status means very little to rosier. his arrogance has done him an honest service in that respect; an individual’s knowledge, ambition and skill will earn his admiration, regardless of status.
although far from pleasant, he is a fiercely loyal friend to a select few. beneath a flawed surface is a normal teenager, with a penchant for mischief and a weak spot for fun. petty as he may be, he values his energy and time, and he will use it wisely ⎯ if you find yourself in a heated debate with him, rest assured, you have sparked his interest. that being said, he operates on self-preservation above all; in the world of evan rosier, evan rosier will always come first, making it a challenge to develop a long-term friendship of any kind with him.
like the majority of students, evan’s home life is far from perfect. despite being an only child, he never quite received the attention he craved as a child, and has spent every moment since trying to overcompensate by ruthlessly working himself close to breaking point to gain recognition.

loyalty / affiliation
it’s no surprise that rosier’s parents are avid followers of lord voldemort, but only his father has been officially branded. shortly after his thirteenth birthday, his mother deemed it appropriate to educate him on their family’s close affiliation with the dark lord, claiming that one day, he too would wear their master’s mark. his parents fed him a cleverly constructed promise of admiration, respect and power ⎯ at a young age, it became quite clear to evan that supporting lord voldemort was the key to gaining his parents’ affection. but somewhere along the way, his ego clouded his loyalty, and he quickly realised that the dark lord’s cause benefited no one but the master of the dark arts himself.
the promise of glory was an illusion to gain mindless followers, he came to believe. his parents would never care for him the way parents should, he determined. but his younger self had burrowed into the deepest corner of lord voldemort’s cause that clawing his way out had become a ludicrous thought.
to this day, his loyalty remains fragile. to his knowledge, a number of his classmates ( a handful he considers friends⎯ ) support the death eater movement. perhaps, beneath the uncertainty, a part of him still hopes that voldemort is his ticket to power. his parents eagerly await his graduation from hogwarts, which will mark the very same day the dark mark touches his skin.
